I’m testing the new Scan Input for Text Fields feature in NocoBase v2.1.0-beta.48 .
My setup:
- NocoBase v2.1.0-beta.48 running locally in Docker
- MacBook + Chrome: works perfectly. When I click the Scan button, the browser opens the camera and I can scan barcodes successfully.
- iPhone + Safari: the Scan button is displayed, but when I click it, an error message appears and the camera does not open.
I’m wondering:
- Is the Scan Input feature officially supported on iPhone/iOS?
- Does it require HTTPS to access the camera on mobile devices, even when running locally?
- Has anyone successfully tested this feature on Safari or Chrome on iPhone?
- Is this a known limitation or bug in v2.1.0-beta.48?
The same configuration works correctly on desktop browsers, so I’m trying to understand whether this is an iOS restriction, a browser permission issue, or a NocoBase-specific problem.
Any insights or successful test results on iPhone would be greatly appreciated.
