Problem editing a formula field

I have a formula field that takes values from a few other fields on the same record and performs some calculation. I used the x button next to the formula field to select the other fields and pills showed in the formula editor without a problem.

Now I’m trying to make a change on the formula field and I have problem with the pills:

  • I can’t delete a pill (a reference to another field)
  • I can’t enter any text before the first or after the last pill

Is this a real bug, or am I doing something wrong?

Nocobase is 2.0.16 and my browser is Firefox 148.

From my experience, it seems that:

  • Formula fields only work reliably with values within the same record
  • It’s difficult (or not supported) to directly reference values from related records (e.g., child tables, relations)

This becomes a limitation in real-world use cases, for example:

  • Calculating totals from related line items
  • Aggregating values across relations
  • Building more complex business logic

In these cases, we often have to rely on:

  • Workflows (post-save)
  • Or custom JS solutions

But that means we lose real-time calculation inside forms, which is a big drawback.
