NocoBase 2.1.0-beta is here! Major AI upgrade unveiled

Dear community members!

NocoBase 2.1.0-beta was released yesterday.

This release marks a major upgrade to our AI capabilities. You can now integrate AI agents directly with NocoBase. From CLI integration and AI-powered system building to enhanced AI Employees and AI development plugins, this version covers the full workflow of environment setup, application development, and business collaboration. We also continued expanding V2 page support and core feature compatibility.

For full release details, check out our blog:

AI documentation:

Building systems with NocoBase is now significantly easier than before. We’d love to hear your real-world experiences using AI and NocoBase to build systems for different scenarios.

Looking forward to your feedback!

This is very exciting, but can you guys please stay focused on getting 2.0 up to speed with all the missing features that we need from pre 2.0? Also, where did the release notes page go?

I second this. I’m using v2.1.0-beta.24 and was super hopeful about the return of the Kanban board. It’s been painful getting it to be useable.

Yes I also agree with the other replies. These AI features are exciting but getting back the basic features from V1 that are sill missing from V2 would be even more exciting!

Well, @Lijia The team has spoken!

Here is my request list:

  • Associate and disassociate records with action buttons and column actions
  • Save Mode option for Submit Button settings on Form blocks
  • Ability for JS data blocks and iframe blocks to access variables and secrets (API keys for example). Right now we have to expose these in the browser.

By the way, lot’s of users have asked for a global search option to search all data collections. Last year your team said this was technically very difficult, but I created a custom plugin that solves this problem and I shared it with the team last week so anyone can use it for free:

Many of us have purchased commercial plugins and we’re willing to help and contribute more because we all want Nocobase to be successful. All we are asking for is for your team to get 2.0 up to speed with the basics before spending any more time creating new features that are nice to have but not yet critical for our needs.

Put yourself in the shoes of a someone who just discovered Nocobase. It looks great but then you review the forum here and see all the complaints about 2.0 features that are still unavailable. How do you think that looks? Why would you consider paying for a commercial license for a product that isn’t production ready?

Thanks for hearing me out.

For me it’s even more basic features than that. Being able to choose what happens after form submission (reload form, redirect to parent, redirect to detail, custom url). Basic conditional formatting in tables and lists to highlight values without needing a custom js item. Conditional dropdowns, so a parent field can limit options downstream in a choice field. Grouping tables and list. Sorting tables and lists by relationship fields. All of these are honestly quite basic I would say, and now we are in a situation where I can ask ai to build me an interface but I cant do these simple things.
