Hi NocoBase Team and Community,
I am a long-time user of NocoBase, moving from v1 to v2 (beta.11). I’ve noticed a significant change that makes building workflows more difficult in v2.
The Problem:
In v1, when we added a Submit button to a Form block, we could easily find the “Assign field values” option directly in the button settings. This allowed us to automatically update other fields (like setting a “Status” to “Closed” or “Pending”) every time the user clicked Submit.
In v2, this option seems to be missing or is extremely hard to find for the Submit action within Form blocks. While I can see it in “Update record” actions for Table/Detail blocks, it’s not readily available for the standard “Submit” button in a Form.
Why this is important:
For a “Repair Management System” or any ticketing system, we need to:
-
Submit the form data.
-
Simultaneously change a status field (e.g., Change status to “Closed” when the technician submits the final report).
Currently, in v2, it feels like this basic logic requires too many steps or is hidden in the Flow-engine settings, which is not as intuitive as the v1 experience.
My Request:
Could you please add the “Assign field values” configuration back to the Submit button’s drawer (Edit button) in v2? We want to be able to set conditions and field updates as easily as we did in v1.
Is this a planned feature, or is there a specific way to do this in v2 that matches the simplicity of v1?
Thank you for your hard work on this amazing platform!
