Hi NocoBase Team,
I’ve been exploring the new AI features in NocoBase recently, including AI Builder, AI Employees, UI Builder, and the AI coding skills integration. First of all, I want to say that the direction is very exciting. The combination of AI + No-Code feels much more practical and reliable than having AI generate an entire application from scratch.
However, after trying the current workflow, I feel there is still a gap between the power of the platform and the actual user experience.
Today, building with AI usually looks like this:
- Open Claude Code / Cursor / Codex
- Describe requirements in a prompt
- Let the agent create collections, pages, workflows, etc.
- Return to NocoBase to review and adjust
While this works, it can be difficult to communicate UI and interaction requirements precisely through text alone.
What I would really love to see is a more visual AI-assisted building experience directly inside the NocoBase designer.
For example:
- Click on a table block and ask:
“Add an Import Excel button.” - Click on a chart and ask:
“Convert this to a monthly bar chart.” - Click on a form and ask:
“Add a maintenance date field.” - Click on a filter block and ask:
“Add department and location filters.” - Select an action button and ask:
“Open a popup with asset details instead.”
In other words, AI would understand the currently selected block, page, or component and modify it directly based on natural language instructions.
This feels like a natural evolution of the existing Pick Block context and AI Builder capabilities. It would combine the strengths of WYSIWYG editing with the speed of AI-driven development.
I’m curious whether the NocoBase team is planning to move in this direction in the future?
Personally, I believe this could significantly improve the user experience and make NocoBase one of the most powerful AI-assisted business application platforms available.
